Movie Review: Black Panther

Hey guys,

It's another day for a movie review and this time it is the rave of the moment, Black Panther.
Now, I hear some peeps complain of how the producer of the movie is white and how they are only using our sentiments to cash in. C'mon, for once let's keep sentiments aside and appreciate this great work. We Blacks had always wanted something like this and now we have it.
So here goes the review.

First of all, I absolutely loved Black Panther. The graphics were amazing. The technology in the movie is mind blowing and way ahead of the entire world. I like that it showed what Africa would have probably been without the Colonizers and foreigners coming to corrupt our minds. It showed how Africa would have been if its wealth and brain power hadn't been tapped and drained by the Colonizers.

Secondly, I like that the women in Black Panther weren't made to look weak and helpless. They weren't made to bow to the men or seek approval for their existence. The entire Army was made up of women who were so strong that the men obeyed them (especially when Okoye's husband bent the knee when she ordered). The movie kept women on the same level as the man, without emasculating the men. There was equality.

Real African Languages were used and that inspiration was gotten from real African countries (I noticed Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa) I'm sure there was a lot more African countries used. As a Nigerian, I got especially excited when I heard M'Baku shout "Anumanu" which in Igbo means "Animal" when he challenged T'Challa to a ritual fight. And also when he shouted "Abia" on the battle field.

I also liked the sarcasm and sense of humor used in the movie 😂😂😂. From M'Baku to Killmonger to T'Challa's sister played by Letitia Wright.
I like that the movie put into perspective the African proverb that "A child abandoned by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth" using Eric Killmonger's abandonment by his uncle T'Chaka and the country.

I liked that very hot people were used for the movie. From Michael B Jordan to Winston Duke (the two men I want to marry) and all the women used in the movie. Very drool worthy.

My only issue with the movie is the part they left the girls Boko Haram had kidnapped in Sambisa forest. In a real situation, they would be kidnapped right back. But apart from that, I'd give Black Panther a 10/10 and I would watch it over and over again.
